West Coast Deck Flex is a deck restoration system that is design to restore the original integrity of an existing walking deck system plus increase it's waterproofing characteristics. This will enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of any building. This system utilizes high quality acrylic resins combined with premium fiberglass reinforcement, followed by a handsome knockdown troweled finish.
Apply bonder and fiberglass matting to the existing deck surface. Allow 24 hrs for drying.
Apple a thin troweled application of texture thoroughly mixed with liquid polymer. A liquid polymer must be used without diluting with water.
Apply texture thoroughly mixed with liquid polymer by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an 1/8th orifice and a circular spray plate. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with a steel trowel.
Apply 1-2 coats pigmented concrete masonry floor paint and sealer. Allow 24-48 hours between coats. Periodically maintain system by applying a coat of pigmented CMFPS.

This system is a polymer modified resurfacing system for aged or newly poured concrete surfaces. This texture overlay is designed to repair driveways, patios, pool decks, entry ways, and walk ways and provide a hard wearing attractive finish.
Mix all powders and liquids with the "Jiffy" type mixing paddle. All materials for a minimum of 5 minutes for a smooth, lump-free consistency.
Apply a trowelled application of pigmented texture, thoroughly mixed with liquid over the deck to prime and smooth the surface. Allow trowelled application to dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Apply appropriate tape or stencils over cured bond coat and cut to finish. Mask adjacent surfaces not to receive coating.
Apply pigmented texture fully mixed with liquid polymer or easy deck acrylic, by trowel or by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an 1/8th orifice and a medium setting in the circular spray paint. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with the steel trowel. Allow drying before removing tape or stencils.
Apply 2 coats of clear sealer CMFPS, Paver Sealer, Master Seal 100 or Master Seal WB. Follow chosen sealer directions closely before allowing any foot or vehicle traffic.

After all required flashing is in place, thoroughly secure hot-dipped galvanized metal lath upon the wood sub-floor. Lap metal lath sheets together a minimum of 1 in and lap all metal flashings with lath up to 1/4 in - 1/2 in from the vertical riser of the flashing.
Mix all powder and liquids with the "Jiffy" type mixing paddle. Mix all materials to a smooth lump free consistency.
After mixing, trowel poly base into the metal lath. Make certain that all holes in the lath are filled to the top of the lath. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Lay fiberglass mat onto surface. Lap fiberglass over flashing at seams. Cut fiber glass to fit around post and drains.
Generously apply bonder by working into fiberglass matting. Bonder is designed to penetrate and soak through the matting; thereby adhering the matting to the surface. Allow 24 hrs to dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Trowel a second application of poly based over the dried fiberglass and bonder. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.
Apply texture by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an orifice and a circular spray plate. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with a steel trowel. Allow 2 hours for drying.
Apply 2 coats of pigmented concrete masonry floor paint and sealer (CMFPS). Allow 2-3 hours between coats. Periodically maintain system by applying a coat of pigmented CMFPS as needed.

A multi ply assemble of, metal lath stapled (big roofing staples) directly to plywood decks, balconies, walkways, landings or stairs. Once the metal lath is attached a layer of cement is applied in a smooth coat. After the metal lath and cement, a layer of liquid acrylic resin is applied with fiberglass (yes just like a boat or surfboard) is applies fully soaking the fiberglass. When dry this is what makes your deck surface waterproof. Over that, another coat of cement based texture is trowelled on and allowed to dry. The final steps is a texture coat applied with an air powered hopper creates an "orange peel" texture which can be trowelled while still wet into a "knockdown' surface just like your walls in your house. The final step is to apply the surface coating of acrylic paint in a variety of colors.

This term refers to the actual framing that usually extends from inside your units floor outside the building to support the balcony or deck. These structural beams sometimes rot and must be replaced to provide a solid walking surface and a suitable surface to anchor your new deck coating system.
This is the square plate on the hand rail post that actually connects the deck to the rail. These often rust and must be replaced.

When plywood decks (under waterproof deck) sustains moisture damage from leaks on a damaged or cracked deck, the plywood rots and must be replaced to provide a solid walking surface and a suitable surface to anchor your new deck coating system.
Ponding is the areas on a deck where water stands after a rain or a good wash down. Some ponding is normal where large decks are applied and very little slope is present. It is considered normal if the water that remains is less than 1/8" in depth and dries up within 24 hours after water is applied.
Usually a concrete area around your pool that is cracked, lifting or just plain ugly
Applied over existing decks that are in generally good condition. This system is just like the "Cement System" but without the removal, metal lath and concrete base coat.
Scuppers are normally sheet metal tubes that go through the wall to allow water to escape the desk area. Sometimes they are the only drainage and sometimes they are used as emergency overflows so if the drain is blocked the scupper will allow drainage.

Slope is the angle of the deck that allows water to run off the edge or into the drains. Sometimes the slope is actually framed into wood buildings and other times on concrete buildings it must be achieved by the application of additional concrete compounds to make sure the water runs off or to the drains properly.
